Great story on Robert Franklin ("Cros")

Wish we had been a bit more "enlightened" on his peculiarities back in the days...Thanks to Jim Hield for forwarding this.  Keep an eye out for this summa cum laude college grad at any pro sports event in town!

Andy,

Sorry you’ll not be able to make it but understandable.  It probably will kill you to learn how to make an app ( friend of my daughter Becca’s just commercialized one, very simple one and it took him about 18 intense moths to do it (he went to Blake too – his Dad is a math teacher there) but he learned a new way to program without punch cards!  So, Mr. Anderson probably has to learn a few new tricks.

Plus, Tatsuda’s only been using those safety pins for finger nail stabbing for years – don’t remind him they have other uses.

June event update

Blake has rented Woodhill CC’s golf course for an Alumni golf event on Monday, June 18th in the afternoon.  The cost for the golf and dinner is $140 if you register online in the next two weeks, $170 (I think) after that.  I would love to get 3 foursomes from our class to play – I’ve played a few times and it’s really fun to see everyone – Chuck Ritchie, Rod Anderson and Jack Fecht have been to the last two I’ve attended and lots of guys from classes around our year as well.  So far, I believe I have confirmation from David Schall, Chas White, Brad Hanson, Chuck Tatsuda, Todd Macgregor and John Bryant.  It would be awesome to get another 6 people so we could have a (Blaker’s) dozen of us.  Can anyone else commit to this?

BTW, I have posted this note on our blog as well.  Again, the address is http://blakeboys1972.blogspot.com/.  You can answer there or reply here.

Hope to see more of you there.  As a reminder, this is the Monday following the Saturday, June 16th party at Ed and Val Spencer’s so you out-of-towners can book your flight back for Tuesday and have a play date with some old friends.  Keep the Saturday date circled as well!

Not much of one but if you’ve not visited our blog (http://blakeboys1972.blogspot.com/ ) I’ll be updating there.  We now have (thanks to several of you) 42 email addresses of classmates (all included in this email, I hope) and all the individual addresses are in the blog if you want one in particular.

We are planning on two weekends of get-togethers, June 16 – 18 and September 28 - 30 because so many of us had only one or the other free and it seemed like it was roughly 50/50.  Obviously, I hope all of you can make one or the other or both.

Saturday the 16th of June will be a free-for-all (just kidding Ed) at Spencer’s-on-the-lake (bring your own bong).  Timing to be determined.  Monday, June 18 is the Greater Blake Open, a golf outing for all classes – last year it was at Woodhill, many years in a row prior at Rush Creek – location still to be confirmed but date is definite.  If you have a desire to play (or just show up and act like you’re playing), respond to this email VIA THE BLOG.  I have cut and pasted this email into the blog as well.

Finally, the weekend of September 28 – 30 is Homecoming Weekend.  I’ve asked Blake’s Alumni people if we could have either a lunch or dinner at Blake sometime that weekend and they are working on it.  John Bryant has reserved ice time (sponge pucks only!) at the Blake Arena for Sunday, September 30th for those interested in pinching their big feet into their old skates (I think Blake has rental skates as well).

Anyway, everything to be firmed up in the next month or so but circle those dates please and if you can blog back (remember, you need to send back the “google permission email” so you are able to write into the blog) which, if either or both, dates work for you, that would be great.

now up to 45 emails (added Larry Chesler, Marc Clarke, Jock Fansler, Duke Schneider, Dick Tickle and Jim Atkinson)
Jocko and everyone,

got the change.  For some reason, one email list had your gmail address as the current one, so I changed it - I've now chaged it back.

For everyone else, I've added the 39th email - Dean Nelson!  Welcome Dean.  If anyone has any others (Craw, I think you said you'd get Gregg Nelson and someone said they could get Tickle, those would be great to add).

Also, I've sent most everyone an invite to be a contributor to the blog but you need to respond to it to get the official permission, so if you want to add your 4 cents worth (inflation don'tcha know), you need to send a reply back to the original email I sent a while back.

For some reason you have my email listed as jockocurtin@gmail.com. No good. Used it once so I could have access to a carpool calendar for one of my kids. My correct email is:

 jcurtin@mac.com

Please make the appropriate changes.

Thanks,

Jocko
